Some of Our Previous Vacation Bible Schools

Standing on the Rock!

The week of June 24 Immanuel Lutheran transformed into an amazing world of rock ‘n’ roll, classic cars and poodle skirts as we celebrated the faithfulness of God during Standing on the Rock!

Each day our rock ‘n’ roll DJ, Chuckie  Crumbles, welcomed us to WRCK,  Rock  Radio, where the music rocks, God is our  strength, and almost anything can  happen!

Meet the WRCK Meteorologist, Sonny Raynes.  While his weather forecasts may not always be reliable, Sonny is a  faithful and valued member of the WRCK team!

Every morning we looked forward to     Assistant Cindy’s commercials.      Whether she featured flying shoes or  Soul Soap, we knew that nothing is  better the love of God.

The newest member of the WRCK team, Kent Clark, is a dedicated newsman who bears a striking resemblance to a certain super hero.

Cindy spent most of the week trying to prove our newsman is actually Superman.  She had plenty of clues:  Red cape, blue shirt, and a strange aversion to the work “Kryptonite.”

What do you thinK?

Every morning our dancers, The Peppermint Girls, and a special guest would lead us in the song, “He’s the King.”

The Snooze Brothers would lead us in learning each day’s memory verse (as soon as they woke up!)

The children were able to spend time each day in our All School Center where they might visit a malt shop, meet an auto mechanic, or even visit a jail cell in an effort to learn more about God, our Rock.

This year in the Blessing Room we      created prayer journals .

Whether it is playing super Frisbee, maneuvering a giant parachute, or sponge relays, everyone loves recreation time!

The Arts and Crafts Center has  something for everyone, but one  of this year’s favorites was creating  our very own  Resurrection Garden!

Thank you to all the volunteers and  participants who helped to make  Standing on the Rock 2013 a  success!!!   We had an amazing  week!
