Immanuel has plenty of opportunities for those who love to make music.

Due to COVID the only group currently rehearsing is the Bell Choir.

These are some of our regular musical groups — all are welcome!

All choirs rehearse from September through April. Please contact the director, Mernie Bidstrup, email mbidstrup@charter.net, or after the 9:00 service for more information.

Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir sings primarily SATB music. They sing on the first and third Sundays of each month at the 9:00 service. They also sing on festival Sundays and special services. Everyone with an interest in singing is welcome. Rehearsals are postponed due to COVID-19. Previous choral experience is helpful but not required.  Rehearsals are postponed due to COVID-19.

Bell Choir
The Bell Choir plays at the 9:00 service on the fourth Sunday of each month and at festival services. Sixth graders through high school are invited to be a part of this enthusiastic and dedicated group. Previous musical experience and reading music is very helpful but not required. Attendance every week is a must! Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 4:15 -5:45 pm.

Children’s Choir
The Children’s Choir sings at the 9:00 service on the fourth Sunday of each month and at the 11:00 service on the first Sunday of the month. The choir also sings at festival services.  Children in first through sixth grade (kindergarten with director’s permission) are invited to join this fun-loving group. We are learning to sing together and are learning basic music skills. Rehearsals are postponed due to COVID-19.

Handchime Choir
The Handchime Choir is a recent addition to our choirs. Handchimes are perfect for this group of first through fifth grade. The children will have fun playing music and will gain experience in handbell techniques and basic music skills. Handchimes are easier to handle and less fragile than handbells. This group provides experience before joining the bell choir in sixth grade. Rehearsals are postponed due to COVID-19.
