Outreach
At Immanuel we minister to those near and far by promoting participation in our community and in many human services activities. We strive to carry out Christ’s Great Commission to reach those in need through the following activities:
Isabella County Restoration House
Isabella County Restoration House (ICRH) was born when about five years ago, after realizing that there were no emergency shelter services available for people who were experiencing homelessness, our pastor with other community collaborators established a rotating emergency homeless shelter (ICRH). Since 2012 Immanuel Lutheran Church has actively participated in hosting the shelter for two weeks each winter season. Guests receive a warm, safe place to rest for the evening as well as having Immanuel volunteers sharing dinner and spending time with them.
Christmas Outreach
Christmas Outreach is a community-wide effort to help community members with clothing, food, winter wear and essentials at Christmas time. For over 35 years Immanuel has played an active part in this project with leadership, volunteers, and financial contributions. For more information please click here.
Community Compassion Network
Community Compassion Network has three programs that help to provide food to both adults and children. Immanuel supports these programs both financially and with volunteers.
The Care Store
The Care Store provides essential personal and household items to people in need with care and kindness. Immanuel supports through in-kind offerings, financially and with volunteers.
Campus Ministry
Campus Ministry is important in a college town! We work with college students to connect them to areas of fellowship and one another. We host small-group Bible studies and other social activities. We also provide an internship program for CMU students.
Community Blood Drive
Community Blood Drive serves the greater health our community. Once a year Immanuel hosts this much needed service in our community.
Papua New Guinea
Immanuel has been a part of mission/accompaniment trips to Papua New Guinea since January of 2002. We hold them in prayer and are honored to pay for a Papua New Guinea counselor to work at a summer camp, Living Water Ministries, each year they are able to host.
